Specialty schools are around for good reason. There are special children. Not “special” in the PC sense of the word but special in the sense that these teenagers offer extraordinary talent, sharp and vivid intellect, rare gifts of genius. They are the sterling individuals who do not need to slug it out in the morass of stultifying curriculum offered at public schools.

Does your child have you secretly wondering if another Einstein has joined the human race? Or does your child dance like and sing like a reincarnated Fred Astaire? Do you feel you have the next Frank Lloyd Wright or the next NASA moon walker?

These very same children however are actually at greater risk for emotional problems if their intellectual curiosity is not exercised and satisfied. Intellectual prowess doe not necessarily mean emotional maturity. By virtue of the gifts that can give them outstanding lives,they are ostracized by indifferent or scornful classmates or ignored by schools who feel gifted kids don’t merit extra attention.

Teen age boarding schools and specialty schools offer parents the freedom to place their teenager where they will best excel instead of consigning an exceptional mind to the mediocrity that prevails in public schools.

Investigate online and at your local library the alternative schools that are available in your area. Very often these schools offer aid or assistance when finances are an issue.
