Teen Crisis Intervention And Dealers

Teen crisis intervention sometimes seems mellow dramatic. Especially if you have never seen the actual faces of the enemy that teens at risk are actually most threatened by - the dealer. Not the one on the street corner, but the ones who smuggle and murder to bring their product over. Perhaps if the troubled teen saw the original source of the dime bag that he bought in his safe suburban neighborhood, he might get a clue as to the actual nature of the enterprise to which he contributes.

The latest large bust by the DEA revealed yet another method of drug concealment, sewing heroin into clothes and into the lining of baby blankets. Several years ago, a another large drug bust brought to light parents who rented their babies out to serve as decoys for cocaine and heroin placed in formula containers.

When teenagers overhear on the news about the increasing bloodshed on the border, you might want to point out to them that any drugs they might be offered came from similar violence. And the stakes are not small.

“During the course of the investigation, more than 100 individuals were arrested and approximately 350 kilograms of heroin, 220 kilograms of cocaine, 1 kilogram of methamphetamine, 150 pounds of marijuana, $200,000 in United States currency, and $1,000,000 in counterfeit United States Currency were seized.

United States Attorney Hewitt said, “This investigation has dismantled three major heroin distribution networks that smuggled large scale quantities of heroin through the southwest border. Federal agents, working with law enforcement officials abroad, have cut down these traffickers at the source of supply, which will prevent future heroin supplies from reaching the streets of our community.”
